Respect for Jewish Culture and History

The video installation Grünanlage was created in 2021 by the artist Boaz Kaizman for the exhibition "Grünanlage" at the Museum Ludwig on the occasion of the festival year "1700 Years of Jewish Life in Germany".

Part of the exhibition was a cooperation with the Germania Judaica, through which a library with 1700 books on German Jewish literature was integrated into the exhibition. This library was meant to express appreciation for Jewish culture and history.

An edition of the installation (1 of 3+2AP) was sold to the Museum Ludwig without the library part.

The Significance of the Contract

This contract serves as a retrospective supplement to the artwork and effectively replaces the physical library. The contract emphasizes the importance of respecting Jewish culture and history and ensures that the installation does not discriminate against or misrepresent Jewish life in Germany.

As a result, the original intention of the library, to express respect for Jewish culture and history, continues.

This contract serves as a subsequent supplement to the Artwork and effectively replaces the physical library. The contract emphasizes the importance of respecting Jewish culture and history and ensures that the installation does not discriminate against or misrepresent Jewish life in Germany. Thus, the original intention of the library, to express respect for Jewish culture and history, is continued.
